We will experience the best in fashion (both contemporary and historical), learn about regional textile history, and visit modern artists who are bringing back heritage crafts.
There is no better place to experience the beauty of England than in Windsor. Here, we will meet our fellow travelers before exploring the castle, which has been home to royals from William the Conqueror to King Charles.
From Windsor, we will venture south through the stunning Sussex countryside to the vibrant seaside city of Brighton. Here we will explore the incredible tradition of creativity in the area. From radical Bloomsbury group artists to a historical needlework collection, there is inspiration around every corner.
Finally, it’s on to London. This ever-changing metropolis is a vibrant design hub with inspiration around every corner. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the legendary Savile Row before immersing yourself in the stunning fabrics at Liberty of London. Our time in London will also bring us in contact with textile designers making a splash in fashion, interiors, and art. And, of course, no trip to England is complete without a glamorous afternoon tea!
Our 2025 Itinerary
Day One – Windsor
Welcome to England! Meet your fellow travelers before enjoying a welcome lunch.
Following lunch, we will walk over to Windsor Castle. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, Windsor is the world’s oldest occupied castle.
That evening, we will gather together for a group dinner.
Day Two – Travel Day
Today we have a travel day! We will check out of our hotel and make our way to the vibrant seaside town of Brighton.
We’ll stop at Standen House and Garden, a beautiful example of an Arts & Crafts home, with period William Morris interiors. Then, we’ll visit the Ditchling Museum of Art & Craft, which celebrates the unique craft heritage of the area.
Day Three – Brighton
Today we will visit the crown jewel of Brighton, the Royal Pavilion. In the afternoon, we will explore this vibrant city and discover its craft community.
Day Four – Lewes
Today we will visit Charleston House, once home to two visionary artists of the Bloomsbury Group who transformed the house into a living piece of art.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the picturesque village of Lewes, known for its independent shops and galleries.
Day Five – Kent
Today we will travel to the legendary Sissinghurst Castle Gardens to delight in September’s beautiful blooms.
After our garden visit, we will travel to a nearby village to visit an artist that works with willow. From simple baskets to abstract art, you’ll be blown away by the elegance of her work.
Day Six – Travel Day
Today we have a travel day! We will check out of our hotel first thing to make our way to London.
On the way, we’ll stop by Parham House & Gardens, home to an important collection of historical art, textiles, and needlework.
Day Seven – London
We start the day with a visit to Liberty of London. This legendary store is known for its incredible Tana Lawn cotton fabric, which is highly coveted among quilters and garment sewers.
After our time at Liberty, we’ll visit the wonderful local fabric stores – including a few that are off the beaten path.
Day Eight – London
Today we will experience a special behind-the-scenes walking tour of Savile Row. Our guide is a fashion historian who has cultivated relationships with the legendary tailors on the street, offering us unprecedented access to this exclusive area.
Day Nine – London
The textile arts are alive and well in London, and today we will meet with up-and-coming textile artists in a thriving craft studio.
In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore London. Whether you want to see the grandeur of Buckingham Palace or while away your time at the Victoria & Albert Museum, we can help you check off your must-see list.

Signing on to join the Great British Textile Tour exceeded my expectations.
Our hosts, Betsy and Emily, were always available if we needed anything and filled our days with wonderful tours and workshops, where we met many crafters with various textile experiences.
The small group size (there were 9 of us) created an intimate feel and an opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world with various interests. This helped develop some lifelong friendships after the tour was over.
The London experience was amazing, with first-rate accommodations and daily tours, from visiting shops on Savile Row, exhibits at Kensington and Buckingham Palace, and a tour of the Liberty store, including English tea and a chance to buy fabric.
As the tour expanded to Bath and the Cotswolds, we had the opportunity to meet various crafters working in their home environment. Each time we were welcomed with open arms as we were shown their particular craft.
Overall, the 10 days flew by and was an amazing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life!
